Update..finally

It has been a very busy few yrs here at the Cook house. We now have a second baby boy Owen who is already 16 months old and Noah is a wonderful big brother. The hair salon is doing great and I still love to do hair. Owen has been dignosed with acid reflux but now has medication and it is finally under control. We are a really happy family and Colin and I are anxiously awaiting our first vacation together to dominican next week.

Noah is 8 months old now. He just got his fifth tooth and he is a very busy little guy. He has been crawling since 6 1/2 months and is determined to be walking SOON!!!! We are loving him and his grandparents are really enjoying his funny personalty too. We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. We will be having a wonderful first Christmas with our little man : )

Hey everyone it has been super busy thats why I havn't written in soooo long. Noah is doing fantastic, he is 5 wks old now and is doing fantastic. he has gained several pounds and he is eating well and very healthy. He has had lots of visits from his grandparents and great grandparents and he is spending more time awake now and looking around. He cant wait to meet his aunt and uncle norm and deb for the first time and play with his big cousin Canaan.

Technically 4 weeks left...

Hey everybody, I am technically now only 4 weeks away form my due date, however I had a dr's appointment yesterday and found out that I am already two cm dialated and should expect the baby to be coming earlier then my due date. The doctor told me that standing for work all day isn't a good idea so I decided instead of picking and choosing clients I would avoid problems and people getting upset and just go off work until after Noah is born. So I am now on pregnant lady vacation...if you want to call it that..lol. Right now I am not sleeping well and yesterday ended up with a very bad cold so I am going to try to get some rest over the next few days and see if I can perk back up a little bit. Thank you everybody for all the encouragement, I will keep everybody posted.

This is a 35 week pregnant picture and an 8 week pregnant picture. I can't believe that in months an entire baby can grow in your body it's crazy. It's amazing how God has designed our bodies to know how to house and feed a baby while it grows for nine months and created a baby from two seperate people that can grow and develop and recognize voices and interact with you even while it's still inside your body. It's crazy to think how miraculous and amazing every single baby is and even from conception how precious a single little life is.

Hey everybody
I am now 35 weeks pregnant and time will hopefully keep flying by because I have had enough! As blessed and thankful as I am to be meeting Noah soon and having this baby I am still getting tired of all the waddling and not being able to tie my own shoes! But spring is in the air, work is going well and the doctor says that I most likely wont make it another 5 weeks which means SOON! He said to have bags packed and ready by two weeks from now so I will be ready and waiting : )

I am 34 weeks pregnant now so there is less then 6 weeks left. We were advised to have our bags packed in less then two weeks just in case so we are slowly trying to pull all of that stuff together the best we can. Yesterday I bought the foam that will be the mattress for the cradle that was passed down to me from my family. I got it all cut into shape and put the cover on it and now we have the cradle ready in our room. Also, yesterday my mom bought us a collapsable crib to use upstairs when we are up there and while Colin is on nights shifts so the baby wont wake him up. My friend Jordan and I put it together last night and it is really exciting to see the house turn into a baby friendly area and have baby stuff everywhere. We are getting closer and closer to being ready and 6 weeks will fly by. I have been feeling well but have been finding it harder to work long hours on my feet and I have been having braxton hicks contractions all day every day for almost a week now so we'll see what the doctor has to say about that tomorrow. Things are great, thank you to everyone for the help and encouragement it is really great and we appreciate you all so much.

33 Weeks Preggie...7 weeks left

Well, I am now 33 weeks pregnant which means I only have 7 weeks left to go. My brother Norm says, "I am going to explode." (oh dear) So far the pregnancy has gone well and I am still able to work and keep up with clients. We are in the precess of putting the finishing touches on Noah's room and pretty soon we will have to start thinking about getting packed and making sure we have done all the final checks. Thats the update so far....thank you everyone fro the support and encouragement.

32 Weeks Pregnant...8 Weeks Left!

Well there are only 8 weeks left and part of me is nervous but most of me just can't wait to get this over with! It's exciting to watch the baby grow and your body change but once you get big it's pretty much just really uncomfortable and you just can't wait to be back to your old self again. (and be able to fit around things again) At this stage Noah should be around 19 inches long and around 4 pounds. It feels like he weighs a million! We have still been great medically which makes for a more enjoyable and less stressful pregnancy and my next dr's appointment will be tomorrow so I will get to check everything out just to make sure but so far things have been fabulous and hopefully will continue that way for the next 8 wks. My sister in law Debra just found out that she will be having her second child so congrats to Norm and Debra and for the next 8 weeks my sister and I get to be pregnant together : ) Some of my friends have started poles on Noah's birthday, weight, hair colour and time of birth. Feel free to make any guesses it's interesting to hear what people think!

9 Weeks Left!

Hey everyone!
Less than nine weeks to go so now we are in the single digits. I know it will go by so fast but it feels like I will be pregnant forever! On Sunday my friends Jordan and Shannon threw me a baby shower and it was soooo much fun. Thank you girls for putting so much work into it, it was such a nice day. Tomorrow Colin and I go to the hospital for our tour and to do the registration so when the time comes we will be ready. I will be excited to be able to put my own shoes on without so much effort again.

10 Weeks to Go!!!!!

Hey everyone
I am now 30 weeks pregnant which means there are only ten more weeks to go! Things are getting busy here with both of us working and trying to fit in more doctors appointments and hospital tours and baby showers and so on. It is getting more and more exciting every day as we get closer and closer. All of Colin's aunts and uncles bought us a beautiful baby swing that plays music and does all kinds of things and it is soooo cute. Thank you everybody! I will get a picture of it up soon. Colin's aunt Linda also brought us all of her little people sets which ended up being a HUGE tub of individually wrapped little people. The baby room is done and the outfit my mom and I got for Noah's coming home day is laying in the crib until we pack it to go. Noah is getting much bigger now and instead of kicks and movements he does more stretching along my ribs or pokes out an elbow. A few nights ago he got the hiccups really bad and I could tell he was annoyed about it, I think we are going to have a very interesting little boy on our hands in 10 weeks. He already has such a personality. Well, that is the update. Medically things are right on target. He is about 3 pounds and is 16 inches long (approx) and I am growing right no target (atleast thats what they tell me; I feel huge!) Thank you to everyone for prayers and support I will keep you updated.

I am 29 weeks pregnant today, so I thought I needed to get a new picture up here. By now, Noah is around 17 inches long and around 2 and a half pounds. I can really feel his movements strongly and can tell what body part is sticking out of my belly. He doesn't like his feet tickled. Colin and I are pretty excited and counting down the days until we finally get to meet our baby boy. I have had a wonderful pregnancy so far and Noah is very healthy so we are truly blessed, and very thankful. We are finished setting up the baby's room and for right now Maggie thinks we did all that work so she could finally have her own room. Poor Mags is in for a rude awakening in 11 weeks. So all is well and I will keep everybody updated.

On Friday Colin and I had our ultrasound appointment. We were so excited to find out we are having a big, healthy baby boy! We would have been excited no matter what but Colin really wanted to have a boy first and Colin's family is excited since Colin is the last one in the family to carry on the Cook name. I am about 5 months pregnant now, and the picture of me is at 4 months so I'm gettig bigger and by the sounds of it, it wont be slowing down any time soon since I'm having a big bruzer of a baby! Should be fun getting that out : 0 We wasted no time getting paint for the baby room and I have lots of decorating and shopping to do! yeah! So thats the update, hope you can make out something from the ultrasound pictures.

We are finally in the new house!!!!

Hey everybody, we are finally moved and we are now at 64 Elizabeth street, orangeville ON l9w 1c6. We are super excited and after and VERY long day on thursday we are finally completely moved in and we are now just getting everything in it's place. Colin and I put up the Christmas tree last night so now hings feel a little more like home. It's much bigger then the last house and we have an extra living room, bathroom and baby room. I am really excited to get the baby rom started and as soon as the plumbing is done I am all about setting up the salon just the way I like it. We will be having our ultrasound next friday so hopefully then we will find out the gender of the baby and decide how we are going to decorate his/her room! : ) yeah! Maggie is slowly adjusting to the new house and new smells but she loves all the space and she loves her new huge back yard. She isnt sure about everything yet but she is a pretty adjustable dog as long as I am around so I know she will be fine. Colin is a a little moe caught up on sleep and we are working away to make this house our home!

hey everyone, just thought I would give a quick update. I am now 16 wks pregnant and I

have quite the bump already started so I'm getting bigger every week. My doctors appointments have gone wonderfully and I have an ultrasound in two weeks. Last night I felt it move for the first time so that was really exciting. It makes it feel just that much more real. We are really excited. In two weeks we will be moving acros town to a bigger house, and I am trying to keep business going as usual since this is my busiest season. So we could use your thoughts and prayers that the move will go smoothly. We are half packed and very busy. Colin works with a guy that offered us a crib and change table for free that has only been used a few times so we are really excited to save some money there since its a beautful new dark wood crib. So we are erally excited to have that. So thats the news. Right now baby is the size of a grapefruit so watch for more expansion in the coming weeks lol!

Hey everyone!!!! As some of you know I have some medical problems that gave Colin and I some worry about whether or not we would be able to have children of our own, and if we did we were told it would most likely take a long time to conceive. We thoguht a lot about it and givent he situation, decided to start trying and we our so excited to tell you all that we are now expecting. It took a few months wich at the time seemed like forever but now seems like it was so short considering it may have taken years, if ever. I am 6 and a bit weeks pregnant and so far things are going fantastic and I feel great, not to mention very happy! Our families are very excited and supportive and have been all along so thank you to our families who encouraged us so much. Thank you for everyone who prayed fro us and who prayed for me to have patience and trust that everything would be fine! We love you all, thanks fro the support, I'll keep you updated! : ) Please keep up the prayers for the health and safety of the baby!

Parry Sound Weekend!

On Labour Day Weekend Rachel, Dana and I drove to Parry Sound to spend the weekend with our friend Lindsay, who lives there. We had a great weekend hanging out, going dancing and swimming at the peer, Thank you Lindsay for putting us up for the weekend and thanks Dana and Rach for a great trip and fun drive. Workn' on the house!

Last week Colin and I had our one year anniversary so we decided to celebrate by taking a few days off and working on the house, which is the same thing we did for our honeymoon. Colin worked non stop tiling our counter top and backsplash and it looks incredible and I worked away at painting tidying and moving furniture in the front room. (originally this room was panelling....eww) So now the house is looking spiffy and we are so happy we were able to get both jobs done before winter. Thanks cooks for the home depot gift card, love you. Happy anniversary Colin, thank you for working so hard on the counter it looks incredible.

The Three Legged Race

On the weekend my brother Ken and I entered the church picnic three legged race. We have never lost a race together and this race has become a tradition for us. This year a bet had been made to race my mom on her own with us two tied together. The deal was that if we lost we had to clean my moms bathrooms and if mom lost she had to make us home made pnacakes from scratch. Needless to say mom was busy making pancakes the next morning. Matt and Brendon think they can beat us next year but we'll see about that!!!!!

A New Friend

My brother, Norm, asked me to take care of his fish and snail while he is away fro the summer. Things were going great but after a really hot weekend the snail sadly passed away. (heat stroke) So I moved the fish downstairs where it became the new salon mascot, "Red." I went to the pet store and bought a new snail, named...snail. It is orange and so the two have become good friends and are living happily in the salon.

On the weekend, Colin, Maggie and I went to the cottage fro some R and R and Maggie loved swimming and sniffing round. We went on lots of walks and had lots of naps, maggie explored a little rock island. She is learning to swim these days, getting too deep makes her nervous still so she is working on it. Colin and I had a great weekend and we woke up sat monring to find a deer on the front lawn. It was a great weekend!

Camping at Bass Lake

On the weekend, Colin Rachel, Derek and I went camping at Bass Lake just near Orillia. We spent Friday night until Sunday there and had a fantastic time. The weather was amazing until late saturday night when we got a huge thunder and lighteneing storm. Saturday was beautiful though, we spent all day on the beach and we cooked outside and did the whole tent thing and had a great weekend. Thanks for coming Rach and Derek!

Last week my best friend Rachel and I decided we needed a girls night in so we got the movie, "the breakup" and did our nails. It was a much needed escape from the ormal routine. Thanks for the great night Rach!!! Love ya!

Poor Molly

Our neighbour's dog, Molly, got really sick and ended up at the animal hospital. After many days and nights at the vet he recovered but the illness took a toll on Molly's fur. she had to have her fur all shaved off. she loks pretty pathetic but hopefully she will grow some fur back soon. I'm glad Molly is feeling better and back to her old self again.

Yesterday was my dad, Lee Copeland's 45th birthday! We had a birthday party for him and we went for a family hike on the bruce trail. Colin and I got dad, a water garden book so he could start building his pond in the backyard, and a fish shirt. We all had a great day. Happy Birthday Dad and thank you for all you do. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

First Female Member of the Noisy River Fishing Club

This weekend my dad and I went to the Noisy River Fishing Club annual meeting. I have been waiting for a few years to get into the club as an official memeber and finally this year I was allowed in and I am an official, and very proud member. My dad, Lee and I have been carrying on the legacy of Copeland's in the club. My dad has been taking my brothers and I fishing at Noisy River since we were in diapers and I am very proud to be carrying on a family tradition that I love and enjoy. I can't wait until Colin and I can take our kids to the river for the first time. I hope my kids can have the great memories fishing with their grandad as I had fishing with him. Thanks Dad.

Yeah!!! This week my garden in the front of the house began to bloom. Last fall I planted hundreds of bulbs that were a gift from my friend Amanda Newton, and they are now beginning to come up. I'm so excited for spring and I can't wait to see my beautiful garden in full bloom! Thanks Mandy, luv ya!

Baby Piggies

Well, this afternoon I went to get Piggy to leave her out in the grass for a while when I saw she had given birth to two baby piggies. I didn't even know she was pregnant so this was a bit of a shock. The babies were soooooo cute and it was very exciting. Unfotunatly the babies weren't healthy and they didn't make it. Poor piggie's motherhood was short lived. It's good that the babies are no longer suffering. Sorry for the exciting news turned sad. Here is a pic of the babies when they were just one hour old.

Maggie & Piggy - Best friends

A few months ago I found out that some people who live a few streets up had found a guinea pig in a box beside their dumpster at work. I gave it a good home and my dog Maggie was instantly attached to Piggy. They love to sit together on the couch and lick eachothers fur and the guinea pig purrs at Maggie when she walks by her cage because she wants Maggie to come over and visit her. Its an odd pair but they became friends fast and its really funny to watch.

Happy Birthday Canaan from a very proud Auntie and Uncle!

Canaan's actual birthday isn't until Monday the 19th but today we had a family birhtday party at gramma and grandpa copelands house. Canaan got lots of cool gifts and had his first very own birthday cake. Canaan had a nice birthday and our family was all there to enjoy it and celebrate with Norman and Debra. It was really fun to see Canaan squishing around in his cake and getting lots of cool toys and seeing his eyes light up at them. Colin and I got Canaan his first train set and he had fun playing with the boulder the train hauls. It was lots of fun.

I GOT MY G LISCENCE!

Yesterday (March 14th) I went to the Orangeville Drive Test Centre to take my G2 exit test so I would finally be fully liscenced. So, after half an hour of nervous driving and a few pointers from my tester, he passes me and off I went. Thank goodness! As mom Copeland pointed out, for some reason I get pretty lucky on driving tests and on speeding tickets too :O lol! So my faithful Mazda saw me through another test and now we are free to cruise fully liscenced and with cheaper insurance. YEAH!

My friend Tesha Kottlenberg and her husband Erroll are expecting their first baby. Tesha isnt due for another week or so but after a recent doctors appointment she found out that the baby should be born some time this week. Congratulations Tesha and Erroll, good luck with the delivery, I hope everything goes perfectly for you!!! (Tesha don't forget I'm a great babysitter) : )

Well, it's super cold out. Schools have been closed today and most of the roads in Dufferin county are closed. It is supposed to be around -35 degrees celcius with the windchill today and frost bite will attack any exposed skin within 10 minutes. The winds are blowing again today and there aren't many people outside. I just took Maggie for a walk and normally the cold doesn't bother her because she loves her morning walk but today proved to be too much and we had to cut it short. So I'll have another sip of my hot chocolate, and here is to another freezing day in Ontario.
